Fläsklägg med rotmos(Swedish pronunciation: [ˈflɛskˌlɛg meːd ˈruːtˌmuːs]), is a dish in the Swedish cuisine and literally means ham hock with mashed rutabaga or as they're also known, swedish turnips.
The ham hock is often salt-cured before it's cooked for one-two hours together with the usual onion, carrot and allspice. Rutabaga, potatoes and carrots are then cooked in the broth, drained and mashed. It is served with different kinds of mustard, one of which is usually a traditional sweet Scanian mustard. The use of allspice is typical in the Swedish cuisine.
